Sarah StrananAbout Sarah

Sarah is a Canadian/Australian who was born in Canada then moved to Australia with her family. Growing up in Australia she pursued various competitive sports, which led to her interest in musculo-skeletal medicine and her Osteopathic studies. Sarah studied Osteopathy in Melbourne, Australia at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT).

Sarah has previously practiced in Hobart, Tasmania, a little island off the south coast of Australia most people only know of because of the Warner Brothers cartoon - yes it does really exist! Sarah has now set up her clinic in Vancouver and is excited to welcome new and current patients.

 

What Qualifications Does Sarah Have?

Osteopaths in Australia Study for 5 years full time at an accredited University, which includes three years of clinical practice.  Sarah graduated with a double bachelor degree in Applied Science (clinical Science) and Osteopathic Science.  In addition to her university degree she has furthered her studies by completing Balanced Ligamentous Tension and Cranial courses.

Sarah has a professional interest in the Osteopathic treatment of pregnancy and worked with a highly qualified Osteopath to learn the skills required.  Also having a history in high level competitive sport, Sarah understands the rigors that professional athletes undertake and what is required of them.

It is a requirement in Australia that Osteopaths be registered and insured before they can legally practice and Sarah has also been a member of the Australian Osteopathic Association. In Canada, Sarah is a member of the Society for the Promotion of Manual Practice Osteopathy (SPMPO) which aims to promote, represent, demonstrate and inform the public of Manual Practice Osteopathy and the role it plays in health care in British Columbia.
